Formal Education - St. Alphonsa's School
The Nepal Adoration Society has established a primary school at Simara, a tiny town in the c entral Terrai of Nepal with the intention of imparting quality education to the children in rural areas. Education is our main apostolate and this is our first school in Nepal.
Nepal is a poor country and children are deprived of good education. And in the case of Terrai it is worse. The life standard of the people in this area is very poor. The status of the women is very low. They are confined to the household duties. There are no good hospitals or schools the unemployed youth are easily available for criminal groups.
The establishment of the school is a small step to bring up the younger generation more responsible, efficient and competitive individuals in order to create better society and nation.
It is a co – educational institution and the medium of instruction is English. Four sisters are involved in teaching. The school was started in 2010 with Pre primary classes. Now there are 182 students studying from L.K.G to Class 3. We plan to upgrade it to higher secondary school. The school charges minimum fee from the students for its running mainly to pay the staff.
