Welcome to Nepal Adoration Society
The Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (SABS) stepped into Nepal in 1993. The congregation started in Kerala, India in 1908. At present, over five thousand members of this congregation work in different parts of the world.
The sisters belonging to St. John's Province, Kanjirappally, Kerala entered Nepal along with CST missionaries and had been teaching in their school. In 1996 the sisters were invited by the Bishop of Nepal to start a home for the HIV infected girls who were sold to Indian brothels. Those girls did not have a place to live when they were brought back to Nepal by some NGOs. They were disowned by their families and society. Gradually we opened a home for them in 1998. We have registered with the government of Nepal as an NGO called Nepal Aradhana Samaj (Nepal Adoration Society) in 1998 and slowly extended the service to other parts of Nepal providing care and support to HIV infected housewives, Migrant people, and children both affected and infected. As a continuation of this service we started a hostel for orphans and girls from vulnerable situations.
